The Opulent Marquees 2018 Presented by the Advertising Club

The mystical black themed entrance with a giant gold M on the wall and its black background just amazed me. It was a classy stage setting. The MARQUEES 2018 awards were held at the luxurious St. Regis, Bombay.

The Marquees 2018 recognized and awarded brands that super performed. These brands exhibited excellence in marketing and brand building. The awards were for their exemplary performance, which inspired and disrupted their competition and made a mark for their brands.

This was the second edition of Marquees 2018. The Advertising Club presented awards to 12 top brands in various sectors. A special category was created and awarded to five more winners. This edition was presented by Zee and powered by Colors and Republic TV, in partnership with One India.

Partho Dasgupta, CEO of BARC India and Chairman of the Marquee Awards said, “In a world full of brands, we see very few marketing initiatives that create ripples and actually change behavior. The Ad Club recognizes the hard work of these marketers and this award is an acknowledgement and appreciation of that body of work.”

The Sector Awards category winners were Reliance Jio (Telecom Service Provider), LG (Durables), Maruti Suzuki (Automobiles), Honda Motorcycles and Scooters (Automobiles), HDFC Life (Life Insurance), State Bank of India (Banking), Paytm Mall (E-Commerce), Xiaomi (Handsets), Parle (Foods), Brooke Bond (Beverages), Surf Excel (Household care) and Colgate (Personal care).

The special category five winners were AMFI (Breathing new life into this category), Nykaa.com (Carving out a niche), IPL (Creating a global impact), Carvaan by Saregama (Reimagining for the better) and Hotstar (Digital media property).

The entries at this year’s Marquees were judged by a high powered jury headed by Harsh Goenka (Chairman of RPG Enterprises), Agnello Dias (Founder & Chief Creative Officer of Taproot Dentsu), Sanjiv Mehta (Chairman & MD at Hindustan, Unilever Limited and Executive Vice President of Unilever South Asia), CVL Srinivas (Country Manager of WPP India), Naveen Chopra (Sr. Advisor of TPG Capital) and Raj Nayak (COO of Viacom 18).

The award ceremony was graced by more than 500 high profile and high caliber industry leaders and stalwarts from the advertising and marketing, media. Also in attendance were the research and communication sectors.
